We are here to help you to create your perfect visit to Burton Constable Hall. Here are the things we think you need to know before planning your visit.

How To Get To Us

Did you know that Burton Constable Hall is only a 20 minute drive outside of Hull City Centre; it is closer than you think! Follow the brown historic house signs from Beverley or Hull and to plan your route, Click here to find out more.

Parking

Free parking is available for all school groups at Burton Constable. After dropping off your pupils, coaches can park in the visitor car park until you are ready to leave at the end of the day.

Opening Times and Seasons

Burton Constable Hall, Grounds and Stables are open to visitors throughout Spring to Autumn, with limited opening throughout the Winter months. Click here for more information about our opening times.

To check available dates for your visit, call Heritage Learning on 01482 318 733 and they can advise you on the best dates to visit with your class.

Access to the Hall is via pre-booked led sessions that are available between 10am and 12pm only. For health and safety reasons, groups cannot access the Hall before 10am. When organising your visit, Heritage Learning's dedicated Bookings Coordinator will help you to plan your visit and organise a time for your arrival.

Lunch

Looking to make a full day of it at Burton Constable and its historic parkland? We can organise lunch for you in the education room or Riding School in the stables. When organising your booking with Heritage Learning, let the Bookings Coordinator know that you would like to stay onsite for your visit and this will be confirmed on your booking form. Please note, lunch facilities must be booked in advance of your visit to avoid disappointment.

Toilets

Male, female and accessible toilets can be found in the Stables Courtyard. Please note, due to the historic nature of Burton Constable Hall, there are no toilets available in the Hall itself. We highly recommend using the toilet before the start of your session when visiting the Hall. If You have any questions or queries regarding this, contact the Heritage Learning team who can advise you on this.

Shop and Gift Bags

A small gift shop can be found at the public entrance to the stables in the Tea Room. The shop has a range of pocket money toys just right for children. if you wish to include a 'stop off' as part of your visit, we recommend taking the children in small groups of no more than 10 children.

You can also pre-book ice creams for your pupils available from the Tea Rooms. Please note, requests for ice creams should be made at least one week prior to your visit.

Outside Space

Groups are encouraged to make use of the grounds and parkland as part of their visit to Burton Constable Hall. During more clement weather conditions, some groups prefer to each lunch outside in the grounds.

Clothing

Some of our led sessions take place outside using the parklands of Burton Constable and moving between buildings will involve being outside, In wet weather conditions, you may need to bring waterproofs and wellington boots. Upon booking your led sessions, Heritage Learning can advise you on what to bring with you on your visit.
