Leave the screens behind this summer and enjoy some time outdoors!
Burton Constable Hall and Grounds have a whole host of fun activities over the school holidays to keep everyone entertained in the great outdoors.
Every Wednesday from 11 am until 3 pm during the summer holidays we will be organising extra ‘Little Explorer’ activities starting from 26 July. You can have fun learning more about this wonderful house and parkland and make some things to take home with you.
Crafting activities will take place inside the carriage house, so even if the weather is wet you can still enjoy the activities in the dry.
All the activities are included in the grounds admission charge – don’t forget under 5s come in free! An annual family membership offers fantastic value for money – pay once and come as many times as you like for a full 12 months.
26 July – Explore Travel – bring your Teddy Bear along to make your own passport, collect a different stamp for the activities being held every Wednesday throughout the holidays – complete all six and get a souvenir gift. Lots of fun craft activities taking place in the Carriage House.
2 August - Explore Mini-beasts – Visit our wildlife area in the North Garden and find out about the mini beasts that call Burton Constable their home – try pond dipping or a bug-hunt dig and make your own bug hotel to take home.
9 August – Explore time-travel – step back 150 years to apply for a job as a servant at Burton Constable (we provide the dressing up clothes) – guess the job, dress up dolls, and don’t forget to take a photograph of yourself as a Victorian servant.
16 August – Explore Wildlife – find out about the amazing wildlife that lives at Burton Constable with the Grounds and Parkland Officer and take part in fun wildlife-themed activities.
23 August – Explore outdoor play and the Whale – learn how to make a kite and then fly it in the grounds, play wildlife croquet and make your own origami whale to take home.
30 August – Explore Adventure – Bring your favourite teddy for a picnic at Burton Constable and they can have a go on the teddy bear zip wire, and you can take part in lots of teddy bear themed crafts and activities.
Normal admission prices apply and include all the craft activities.
