Lace Whale Making
Workshops
Sat 10th October 2026 to Sat 24th October 2026
£25 including materials
Celebrate The Lace Guild’s Golden Anniversary at Burton Constable Hall with our special Lace Whale Making workshop.
Taking place on Saturday 10th and Saturday 24th October 2026, from 10:30am–1:30pm, this introductory workshop is the perfect opportunity to discover the heritage craft of bobbin lace.
In a small group, you’ll learn the two essential stitches that form the basis of all bobbin lace, with time for individual guidance along the way. Using a design created especially for the workshop, you’ll make your very own lace whale to take home.
All materials and equipment are provided, so no previous lace-making experience is needed.
After the workshop, enjoy a traditional cream tea in the Stables Kitchen. You’re then welcome to head back into Burton Constable Hall and continue exploring at your own pace. Please note that last admission to the Hall is at 3pm, and the Hall closes at 4pm.
