In My Mind's Eye

Artist Phil Hargreaves is Yorkshire born and bred, but his paintings in oils are inspired by his travels and wildlife photography as well as by his native county.

Phil's paintings, mainly landscapes in a loose impressionistic style, capture the fundamental drama or beauty of a scene through juxtaposition of shape and colour, enhanced by the texture and freedom of painting with a palette knife. A beautiful illustration of his evolving style, this exhibition concentrates on the abstract shapes this artist observes in the world around us.
