Across two action-packed days, Burton Constable will be transformed with living history, battle skirmishes, military vehicles, vintage entertainment, traders and more, bringing the sights, sounds and spirit of the 1940s vividly to life.

Historical Talks & Storytelling
Alongside the live entertainment and outdoor displays, discover more wartime stories with special talks and presentations in the Carriage House.
Saturday - The East Riding Yeomanry in the Second World War: Join Neil Hutty as he explores the story of the East Riding Yeomanry during the Second World War. Neil’s extensive collection of Yeomanry artefacts, uniforms, medals and personal items is also on display in a special exhibition inside the Hall.
Sunday – Heroes in the Sky: Discover forgotten stories from the aerial war over Britain during the Second World War, from daring pilots and female aviators to life on the home front, brought to life through an engaging theatrical storytelling presentation.

What’s the difference between Hall & Parkland and Parkland-Only tickets?
Hall & Parkland tickets include admission to Burton Constable Hall as well as the outdoor event.
Parkland-Only tickets give you access to the outdoor activities, displays and entertainment but do not include admission to the Hall.
Are the evening dances included in my daytime ticket?
No. The Friday and Saturday evening dances are separate ticketed events and must be booked separately.
Is the event suitable for children?
Yes. The 1940s Weekend is a family-friendly event with plenty for younger visitors to see and experience.
Please be aware that battle skirmishes and firepower demonstrations may include loud bangs and simulated gunfire.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, dogs on leads are allowed in the parkland.
Is there parking?
Yes, free on-site parking is available. Please be aware that the car park may be busy during peak arrival times, so please allow a little extra time and follow the directions of our parking team on arrival.
Is the event accessible?
We aim to make the 1940s Weekend as accessible as possible. Please be aware that, due to the historic nature of the site, some areas have uneven surfaces. The event takes place across gravel footpaths and grass lawns, and there are uneven cobbles within the Stable Block.
Accessible parking is available, but there will be no disabled parking directly in front of the Hall during this event. Please follow the directions of our parking team on arrival, who will direct you to the designated accessible parking area.
Accessible toilet facilities are also available on site.
What happens if it rains?
The 1940s Weekend is an indoor and outdoor event and is expected to go ahead in most weather conditions. Please dress appropriately for the forecast.
Some activities, displays or programme times may need to change due to weather or operational requirements.
Is the BBMF flypast confirmed?
The BBMF flypast is currently subject to confirmation. Any confirmed details will be announced through Burton Constable’s official channels.
Aircraft appearances and timings can also be affected by weather, serviceability and operational requirements.
Will food and drink be available?
Yes. Our Stables Kitchen will be open throughout the weekend, alongside a selection of outdoor food and drink vendors.
As this is a busy event, there may be longer queues at peak times, particularly around lunchtime. We appreciate your patience and recommend allowing a little extra time when purchasing food and drink.
Can I dress in 1940s clothing?
Yes, absolutely! Visitors are very welcome to dress in 1940s-inspired clothing.
Can I camp at Burton Constable?
Camping is available nearby at Burton Constable Holiday Park, subject to availability. Camping must be booked directly with the Holiday Park and is separate from your 1940s Weekend admission.
