Situated near the Holderness coast approximately 9 miles north east of Kingston upon Hull, Burton Constable is clearly indicated by brown Historic House signs.

From York take the A1079 to Beverley; then take the A1035 Bridlington Road to the White Cross Roundabout; take the third exit on the A165 towards Hull; continue on through the village of Skirlaugh; after which turn left and follow brown Historic House signs to Burton Constable.

From Hull (9 miles) take the A1033 towards Hedon for approximately 5 miles until the Saltend roundabout (next to BP Chemical Works); take the first exit towards Preston ; turn left at traffic lights, past the church then turn right to Sproatley ; continue through the village of Sproatley and turn left after the Blue Bell Inn on Burton Constable Road. Alternatively, from Hull follow signs for the A165 Bridlington road until the second roundabout on the dual carriageway at Bilton ; take the third exit and follow signs to sproatley
