Patrick Eyres - The world according to Capability Brown
Exhibition
Fri 7th October 2016 to Fri 7th October 2016
2016 is the 300th anniversary of the birth of one of the UK's most celebrated landscape architects, Lancelot 'Capability' Brown. In the historic surroundings of Burton Constable Hall, Dr. Eyres takes a walk through Yorkshire landscapes designed by this remarkable gardener, entrepreneur and salesman, including the celebrated gardens and parklands of Burton Constable. With his inimitable humour and knowledge, Eyres brings the 'Capability' landscape to life and vividly describes the turbulent social and political backdrop which enabled Brown to thrive.
